TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION
The CALTRANS REGIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER examination is being given on an Open Non-Promotional basis. This examination requires respondents to answer 17 self-rating questions. The examination answers cannot be saved for completion at a later time, therefore, the examination MUST be completed in one session. Please ensure you have at least 30-45 minutes to complete this process before beginning.
This examination consists of an online Training and Experience evaluation and an STD678 State Application.
The STD.678 is required to be uploaded prior to proceeding with the Supplemental Application Questionnaire. The STD.678 must be in a PDF format to be uploaded. Click here for the link to the (STD.678) form if you do not already have one available to submit.
Examinations are processed on a quarterly basis. The final quarterly submission date is the cut-off date by 11:59 pm., Pacific Standard Time (PST). The Training and Experience evaluation and STD678 both must be completed and submitted by the quarterly cut-off time and date mentioned above to be processed. To submit any work completed hit the 'CONFIRM RESULTS' button before the quarterly cut-off date or your examination will not be considered until the next quarterly testing period.
Candidates will receive their results 4-6 weeks after the quarterly cut-off date.

Caltrans recognizes that problems may occur with Internet systems while a candidate is in the middle of submitting application materials. In the event that you encounter problems with the Internet that you are unable to resolve, you may:
1. EMAIL the Examination Analyst at Darren.Gee@dot.ca.gov during regular business hours (Monday - Friday) to receive instructions on how to continue.
2. SUBMIT a request for assistance via E-mail at askExams@dot.ca.gov, providing the following information:
- The name of the examination - Caltrans Regional Administrative Officer
- The date and time you began submitting your application materials online
- Your full name
- A brief description of the problem that occurred
